This collection is the product of an April 2015 trip to Nouakchott and Chinguetti in Mauritania, during which we recorded the musical traditions of the Moors. The musicians belong mostly to the social environment of the Haratin (freed slaves) or are members of the ethnic groups of sub-Saharan Africa.
