We drive change through education<\/h3>\n

Investing in the future of people today<\/h2>\n

FDJM, the \u201cDemocratic Forum of the Youth of Mali \u201c, is a non-profit organization. The projects and events of FDJM can be divided into the areas of education & training, political dialogue and social justice:<\/p>\n

FDJM offers vocational training programs for young unemployed people with the support of its partners. In this way, economic perspectives are created, dependencies are overcome and the growing gap between rich and poor is counteracted.<\/p>\n

FDJM promotes democratic dialogue and enables young people to take part in the political discourse. Based on the contributions of young people in Mali, a letter to the political decision-makers is written and handed over. FDJM thus gives the youth a voice.<\/p>\n

FDJM organizes events in the fields of education, sport and culture. In this way, we raise awareness of the issue of social justice and lay the foundation for a conscious and responsible social interaction.

We help people to find a permanent basis for earning a living, thus enabling them to live a dignified life and preventing the causes of flight<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

By supporting an active engagement with the environment, we create an awareness for sustainable living and working<\/p>\n

We encourage people to participate in society and create concrete opportunities for social and political participation<\/p>\n

Holistic agricultural education<\/h2>\n

2021-2024<\/em><\/h3>\n

The theme of empowerment for self-sufficiency has always played a major role for FDJM. Combined with the aspiration to provide young people with a sustainable education and give them an understanding of the natural resources that surround them, the focus of the current project is on agriculture.<\/p>\n

In the process, the young people learn modern technologies such as soil-less, low-impact cultivation as well as the economic principles and technical requirements of successful agricultural work.<\/p>\n

Training in growing organic vegetables and fruit<\/h2>\n

2020-2024<\/em><\/h3>\n

In the first training class in 2020, FDJM will train 22 young people in the soil-less cultivation of organic vegetables and fruit. Soil-less cultivation on peat and coconut soil is not only particularly water-saving, but also protects the region\u2019s hard-wearing soil and is therefore less seasonal than any other type of cultivation.<\/p>\n

The training consists of three phases: A theoretical training on the premises of FDJM, a practical training on specially rented fields and a further training in marketing and selling the harvested products. All training phases are accompanied by local partners.<\/p>\n

Formation in Organic Juice Production<\/h2>\n

2018<\/em><\/h3>\n

It is very important to sensitize young people for sustainable self-sufficiency. In this context, FDJM and its partners were able to realize a course in organic juice production ranging from theoretical knowledge of organic farming techniques to practical juice production and distribution.<\/p>\n

Formation in Natural Soap Production<\/h2>\n

2017 – 2024<\/em><\/h3>\n

Since centuries in West-Africa the productions of crafts has been transmitted orally from generation to generation. This is the basis for the authentic and traditional character of the products. FDJM and its local partners realised a formation in natural soap production.<\/p>\n

Formation in Aviculture<\/h2>\n

2017<\/em><\/h3>\n

The self-sufficiency and independence of young people are two of the most important goals of FDJM. In this context, a professional formation of young people in ecological aviculture has been organized by FDJM, BENKADI e.V. and local partners. The project is co-financed by the foundations Stiftung Umverteilen and Stiftung Nord-S\u00fcd-Br\u00fccken.<\/p>\n

Female Soccer Tournament<\/h2>\n

2017<\/em><\/h3>\n

FDJM fights for gender equality. To underline this engagement, FDJM organized the first female soccer tournament for students in Bamako. With the support of BENKADI e.V. and local partners, an important sign for equality in sports could be sent.<\/p>\n

Professional Formation as Tilers<\/h2>\n

2016<\/em><\/h3>\n

FDJM and his partner \u201cSociet\u00e9 Malienne de Carrelage\u201d (SoMaCa) realized a professional formation as tilers for more than 60 young people. After the formation, more than 85% of the trainees were able to get a job in the sector. According to Mr. Cheick Oumar Sissoko, director of the SoMaCa, the program was a full success.<\/p>\n
