Music &amp; dance in the regions of Timbuktu and Gao follow and are\u00a0dedicated to the musical cultures of the Songhai, the Moors, the Tuareg, and\u00a0the Daoussahak.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ODE TO THE HERD<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The Fulani in Mopti (33min)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recitations, poems and songs are executed by the Fulani-shepherds\u00a0in praise of what is most important in their life: the cattle. The delicate sounds of the lamellophone\u00a0bigini may seem strange alongside modern lute melodies and hard\u00a0calabash drumbeats.
